Complementary Therapy

This is given as an aid to relaxation, to relieve stress and to help establish normal sleep patterns. Complementary therapy is given in addition to prescribed medical treatment NOT as an alternative.

Types of Therapy we give:

  • Body Massage - a treatment which can be used to relieve muscle tension, increase circulation and bring comfort from touch.
  • Reflexology - a specialised foot massage where pressure is applied to certain areas of the sole of the foot.
  • Indian Head Massage - a special form of massage for the head, neck, shoulder and face.
  • Reikki - non-invasive touch therapy that aims to balance the body's energy.
  • Aromatherapy - uses pure essential oils during massage. Different oils have different effects. The use of oils is restricted to people who are undergoing chemotherapy.
  • Auricular Acupuncture - non-invasive acupuncture using fine needles or magnets to stimulate acupressure points in the ear.
